Schmaltz of Life

Gone are those years,
When came true my worst fears,

Bewitching a cloying dullness.

Gone are those years,
when I was all ears,
for things which were superfluous.

Gone are those years,
When I was thirsty for tears,
to thread back the lesion of thy love.

O come thou years,
When I am not
piqued with fears,
For I am left with none.

O Come thou years,
When none is led by what one hears,
Being judgmental isn’t a vile recompense.

O Come thou years,
When I am appeased with tears,
Learn to conciliate with realities.

O Come thou years,
When life will come into gears,
For all Near and Dear.

Beautiful poem.
Every blogger seems to disapprove of one's own work; layman calls it crap, linguists like you call it schmalz; Or was there something about the title that I didn't really understand?

In the middle of a transition? I think so… when the laws of the past don’t exactly hold, and you would like new laws, a new order to establish itself in your life in the future. Understood that the past was not glorious, and learnt how to rectify misconceptions.

The Poem was about hope, how it indeeds to let go off the past and surge into the future with greater hope.. let go off the Schmaltz and walk into the future..

Very True..

Yes, definitely; the two repeating sentences make it quite obvious it was about hope. Was just curious about the title. Thanx for explaining.

Whatever is gone is still impressed on the memories and taken along whether or not required..This is a part of experience.
Tears sought sympathy..Fears taught selfishness..and people who caused it did it out of their own.Hope is under the weight of these fears n tears.but as one poet put it...hope is like a mountain into the sky that lifts(holds) the earth. but its the earth..fears tears experience..that keeps the hope erect..
After all..we should celebrate for being alive.
